Story
I'm excited to say I'll be running the London Marathon 2024 for CRY, in loving memory of Joseph Levi Merrit.
Joseph Levi Merritt was a kind, funny 16 year old boy who loved his family, friends and playing PlayStation. Six weeks after his 16th birthday his parents found him in his bed when they went to say goodnight. He had died from Sudden Cardiac Death with no warning or signs of ill health. He had always been very active. His parents, sister and family are devastated by his sudden death.
CRY offered bereavement support to the family, talked them through the post-mortem results and provided screening at St George's with Professor Sanjay Sharma and his team, who are specialists in this area. CRY also provide screening with ECGs for young people to prevent sudden deaths happening. The work of CRY is invaluable to so many families.
We are very grateful to Olivia running the London Marathon in memory of Joseph and on behalf of CRY. Please support her !
Thank you
the Merritt family on behalf of Joseph
Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions.
With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young.
By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions.
