Story
In May 2024 I’ll be running the Hackney Half Marathon to raise money for Mind, because everyone should have access to a range of mental health services.
I have lived with anxiety through much of my adult life. Whilst a lot of that time it has been manageable, there have been several times that I have relied on courses of therapy and counselling both via the NHS and private.
This year in particular I have seen some scary low points, and have witnessed that anxiety push me into a dark enough place that at times even taking basic care of myself felt like a battle. I have been lucky enough to be able to lean heavily on platforms like Betterhelp to see me through these moments, and I am acutely aware that isn’t an option for a lot of people. Everyone should have access to free comprehensive mental health services and charities like Mind help make this possible.
These services need supporting to be able to continue the work they do, so please give what you can and push the girl that hated running 2 months ago to run quite a long way in aid of an important cause 🏃🏻♀️
