Story
Hello everyone!
Fancy sponsoring me to have a big hair cut? I’ve been growing my hair for ages and it’s time to snip it off for two great charities, Sarcoma UK and the Little Princess Trust.
I'm raising money for Sarcoma UK because they support people like my amazing 21-year-old cousin Johnathan, who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in October 2022. For months, he had pain in his upper arm that doctors thought was a sports injury. They sent him for physio, but it wasn't until he started university and was in unbearable pain that a GP took him seriously and sent him straight to A&E. Poor Johnathan had to endure months of chemo, followed by a major surgery where they didn't know if he would lose his arm, and then radiotherapy. Having thought he was through this terrible ordeal, in August 2024, he had pain in his lower back, and doctors found the cancer had spread. More gruelling chemo followed until the end of the year and we are all hopeful that he can now enjoy a normal life.
Sarcoma UK is an incredible charity that deserves our support, and I want to help them help others battling this terrible cancer. Sarcoma UK funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments. Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. By supporting me, we can help change this. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep our Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.
I'm also donating my hair to the Little Princess Trust, a fantastic charity that makes real hair wigs for kids and young people who've lost their hair due to cancer or other illnesses.
If you can sponsor me, I'd be super grateful. Thanks so much for your support!
