Story
My family and I are raising money for the St Giles Hospice who looked after my Dad in his final weeks. On the 22nd June we will be completing in the 10k with St Giles in Lichfield, in memory of my Dad.
After feeling unwell on a holiday my Dad went to the hospital and was quickly diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. He began treatment to give us as much time as possible. We were told the cancer was terminal and he passed away just 9 weeks later at St Giles Hospice.
My dad was and will always be my idol and we all miss him everyday. I watched him disappear in front of my eyes despite fighting so strong for us all. He was the centre of our family and made an impact on every person he ever met.
Throughout my Dads short battle, St Giles made the most horrific time in all our lives that small bit better. I was able to create a pre graduation at the hospice knowing my Dad wouldn’t make it to see me graduate. They couldn’t have done enough for our family meaning we could focus on making the most special memories and being together with my Dad. My Dad absolutely adored all the staff at the hospice and appreciated how they made him feel as much himself as possible
The hospice runs on donations therefore we are raising money to hopefully bring ease to someone else’s family in the most difficult time.
Thankyou so much for any donations or shares🥰
