Story
In September, I’m going to be running (or trying to) WhyWeRun's 250km (155 for those miles girlies) across five days to raise money for @Bigmoose in Wales. 2023 was a very difficult year for my family and I, we lost my cousin to mental health while another family member was going through an extremely difficult period of mental illness. With all the heart break and anxiety this year brought on, it led me to want to raise money in their honour and help make a difference to the next person and family confronted with mental health/mental illness, which brings me to Bigmoose
Bigmoose is an incredible Cardiff-based charity that provides free therapy for anyone in need in the UK. As I’m sure you know, mental health care and waitlists for mental health support in the UK are completely overburdened and, as a result, fail individuals and their families. My family has seen first-hand how challenging it can be accessing care irrespective of the severity of someone’s mental health. Bigmoose is one of the charities in the UK making a real difference in people’s lives by connecting individuals to their team of therapists as quickly as possible (among other amazing things they’re up to).
My goal is to raise £1500 for Big Moose with WhyWeRun. Any donations are amazing, but if you don’t have any spare cash please check out Big Moose and most importantly keep them in mind whenever you, a friend or family member is in need of support and doesn’t know where to turn.
