Fundraising for Teenage Cancer Trust
Ollie and Luke are putting themselves through the challenge of running the London Marathon to raise funds for Teenage Cancer Trust in memory of Luke’s brother, Robert and Ollie's mum Elaine.
Rob was Luke’s older brother, who was diagnosed with leukaemia back in 2013 and passed a few days after the diagnosis, at the age of 23. During this short period, Teenage Cancer Trust provided a space that gave the family privacy, with specialised areas and dedicated staff.
Not long after Rob's passing Elaine was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Breast Cancer, having already previously beaten it a few years before, eventually choosing to give up the fight after a 3 year battle.
Ollie & Luke went through those events together and are now supporting each other through the marathon. Any and all support is greatly appreciated.
We are raising funds to contribute towards the continuation in providing world class facilities and dedicated staff to teenagers and young adults who are facing cancer at a vulnerable stage of their lives.
About TCT:
Every day, seven young people aged 13-24 hear the words “you have cancer”.
Cancer doesn’t just devastate their health. It threatens to take away everything they care about – their identity, their independence, and their dreams.
Teenage Cancer Trust funds specialist nurses, youth support teams and hospital units within the NHS to provide the very best care and support during treatment and beyond, making sure cancer doesn’t stop young people living their lives.
They’re the only UK charity dedicated to meeting this vital need.
