Running the London Marathon for Colin and Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation

Life can change in an instant. For Colin, my close friend’s father, this became a reality when a fall caused a fractured skull, triggering a stroke that left him unable to walk or communicate properly. Living with multiple sclerosis (MS) already presented challenges, but this devastating accident turned his world upside down.

Now, Colin is fighting to regain his independence and avoid being permanently wheelchair-bound. It’s a tough journey, but he isn’t walking it alone. Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation (QEF) has been instrumental in his recovery, providing expert physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and compassionate care to help Colin work toward his goal of walking again.

Colin has always been an avid supporter of Guildford Rugby Club, a team we’ve all played for at some point or another. Thanks to the incredible progress he’s made with QEF’s help, it’s been heartwarming to already see him back on the sidelines.

To show our support for Colin and his family—and to help QEF continue their life-changing work—we are running the London Marathon alongside his Son, Rory. Every mile we run is dedicated to raising awareness and vital funds for this incredible charity. QEF not only supports Colin but empowers countless individuals facing unimaginable challenges to rebuild their lives and regain hope.
