Oli's London Marathon for Bliss

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
My daughter Molly was born in August 2024.
She came into this world via a planned cesarean.
All was going well, until she started struggling with her breathing.
She was rushed to Neonatal care.
It was a very common issue with babies born via cesarean this early in the term
as the fluid from the babies lungs doesn’t get squeezed out if born “ the other way “
She was kept in overnight after being on a CPAP machine.
Which delivers vital oxygen directly into the babies lungs.
She had tests every few hours, all with less than positive results.
After 2 nights in Neonatal care things started to improve.
Those 2 nights were awful for Me, Amy , Molly and Henry who was at his grandparents.
Not knowing if we were off to another hospital if things didn’t improve.
Seeing all the machines helping Molly to breathe was heartbreaking.
But
After a couple of positive results, She moved off CPAP machine 💪🏼
Breathing without the machine was an amazing sight.
Bliss were there throughout if we had any questions, worries or just someone to talk to.
The rate of babies born premature or sick in the UK is rising with 1 in every 7 babies needing neonatal care.
Bliss is continuing the fight to improve outcomes and quality of life for these babies - but we need your help to do that.
