In June 2025, the rowing team Ocean5 will set off from Monterey Bay, California and attempt to row to 2,800 miles to Kaua'i, Hawaii.

The Team: Kevin Gaskell, Matt Gaskell, Patrick Deacon, Stephen Greenan and Tom Higham.

There is some rowing pedigree within the team, with all members having completed an ocean crossing or a circumnavigation.

Kevin and Matt hold a rowing world record for their previous Atlantic Crossing and Patrick holds a rowing world record for his circumnavigation of the UK.

Ocean5 intend to break records again, winning the overall race and being the fastest crew of 5 to row from Monterey to Kaua'i.
