The Ocean in Motion

Shropshire Widow's Sons is raising money for The Movement Centre

Motorcycle event · 21 September 2025

Most of us take for granted the ability to control our head, sit, crawl, stand or walk. We help children with cerebral palsy, global developmental delay & other problems of movement control to achieve these skills through a unique therapy, Targeted Training, which can completely change their lives.

Story

The Shropshire Chapter of the Widow's Sons Masonic Bikers Association is organising this ride out from Oswestry to Barmouth, and back, to raise funds for The Movement Centre and would like to invite all sensible and charitable motorcyclists to join us.

Suggested minimum donation of £10 per rider, plus £5 per pillion.

Please make sure you enter your name against your donation (and claim gift aid if you can) so we can account for the number of participants.

If you cannot attend, please don't let that stop you making a donation, but please make it plain that you're not attending, so we do not cater for you.

On the day:

Park at the main Oswestry car park (SY11 2NR) from 08:30 - 10:30 and make your way to the Masonic Hall (opposite the car park exit) for registration. Have a cup of tea, a danish pastry and a chat, collect your bottle of water and then set off for Barmouth between 09:00 - 11:00.

Meet the team from the North Wales Widow's Sons Chapter at Barmouth and collect your proof of arrival - refill your bottle with sea water (the ocean) and it return to Oswestry.

Further details of prize draw etc. on the day.

The Movement Centre's mission is to maximise the potential of children’s movement control through Targeted Training.

Many children who visit TMC have a disability that affects their movement control. Targeted Training addresses these issues. Consequently, a course of therapy can help children to gain essential functional skills. Gaining these skills can make a child far more independent. As a result, this can completely change their lives.
