Story
This summer Sammy and Oakley have set themselves a 24-hour wilderness endurance challenge to raise money for Blind Veterans UK.
The boys are passionate about supporting Veterans and thanking them for their service.
Oakley and Sammy have designed this challenge themselves and will put their hours of trekking, wilderness exploring and survival skills to the test.
They will be walking a coastal path in Suffolk for 6 miles, carrying everything they need to survive for 24 hours. They will wild camp on the beach, scavenge for fire wood, and cook their own food in true survivor style. The expedition will be led by seasoned hiker and Girl Guide trooper Jill Horne (Oakley’s Nana).
The boys will be following up their challenge in September by visiting the residents of the Blind Veterans UK care home in Worthing, to deliver home-made cakes and tell the Veterans of their epic adventure.
We hope you will support the boys in thanking Blind Veterans for their service to society and in the boy’s words, raising enough money for them to have a nice day out. Thank you!
