OACC and MWCC fundraiser for Anthony Nolan

Cricket Match · 3 September 2023
Many of you know Victor Stairmand, star all round sports player at St. Albans School and beyond.
Vic is a long term member of Old Albanian Cricket Club, where he not only excelled regularly on the field but also gave much back to the club especially when coaching junior girls cricket at OACC.
You may also be aware that at an age far too young Vic is currently battling cancer, thankfully he is very strong and appears to be on the road to recovery but his treatment is ongoing.
OACC are holding match in support of Vic on Sunday 3rd September, to raise funds for the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust, who have supported Vic through his treatment.
There will be a match at Woollams Sports ground between an OACC XI and a team from our sibling club and Vic’s midweek side “Marshalswicket CC” during the afternoon, which we hope will follow an intra club junior girls game.
Please do come down and watch the matches on the day and give generously to a great cause so that the Anthony Nolan Trust can continue its work to help others just as they have helped Vic.
Every day, Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with a blood cancer or blood disorder. We do this by matching incredible individuals willing to donate their stem cells to people who desperately need a lifesaving transplant. We also carry out cutting edge scientific research, fund specialist post-transplant nurses and support patients and their families through the transplant process and beyond. We won’t stop until we save the lives of everyone who needs a stem cell transplant. Every penny you donate brings us closer to that day.
