Story
Nottingham Refugee Forum (NNRF) offers advice, support and friendship to refugees and asylum seekers in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
Rough sleeping has increased alarmingly in Nottingham over the last few months. People granted Refugee status have 7 days to find new accommodation and many of them resort to sleeping rough while looking for alternative housing.
In support of NTU's commitment as a Nottingham University of Sanctuary (alongside University of Nottingham), on Tuesday 7th November, a group of NTU students will complete a 72-mile cycling challenge (the same distance as a common sanctuary seeking route between Syria and Lebanon) to raise funds for the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Refugee Forum.
Your donations will go towards emergency support, allowing Nottingham Refugee Forum to distribute care packages containing a rucksack, sleeping bag, pack of underwear, pack of socks, hat, gloves, toothbrush, toothpaste, shower gel, shampoo, and deodorant. Each kit costs £40 to prepare.
Thank you for your support!
