Story
“I’m delighted that Northwood are supporting UCAN. Urological cancers – and their symptoms – can feel taboo to discuss with our friends & family, but UCAN are changing this and saving lives by doing so.”
– Scott Morrison, Branch Manager
What we’re doing:
• The Big Bash
• The Wing Walk
In office fun (& fundraising!)
Here at Northwood, we're absolutely thrilled to be part of the celebrations! You can join us in our office on 23 West High Street for a day of fun and games. Bring cash to buy tickets to guess the combination to WIN one of our many amazing prizes and we'll also have a kids' colouring-in competition. If that wasn't enough to raise money for UCAN, we'll have an Emmerdale star in store who will be serving drinks & nibbles!
Laura's doing a Wing Walk
Our founder, Laura Mearns, who is terrified of heights has been nominated (thanks, Juliet!) to take part in the Wing Walk - the ultimate challenge! She's going to be propelled into the skies over the beautiful Aberdeenshire countryside, harnessed to a stunning biplane aircraft.
It's safe to say, she's dreading it but the tears will be worth it as we raise funds for UCAN.
UCAN in Aberdeen city & shire
With a centre of excellence in Aberdeen, UCAN raises awareness, provides support and research prevention and treatment for urological cancers – prostate, bladder, kidney, testicular and penile.
They aim to encourage earlier diagnosis for better prognoses, support and empower those living with urological cancer and its side effects whilst continually evaluating new technologies.
Community is at the heart of all we do.
Each year we select up to three local charities or organisations to raise money for and this year, we’re supporting:
- UCAN Urological CANcer
- Polska Szkoła (the Polish School)
