Story
Meet Sloan, Mimi and Fawn, 4-week-old kittens, who have been in our care for 20 days now. They were discovered, cowering for warmth inside a car engine, by a concerned member of public; after he, his wife and daughter heard meowing coming from the bonnet. They were thankfully able to extract the kittens, covered in dirt and engine oil, from the car's engine and bring them to the Northern Ireland Cat Centre.
Sloan, Mimi and Fawn must have been abandoned by their mother, for some untoward reason, and tucked themselves inside the car engine for warmth and safety. The kittens required cleaning up, warmth, and lots of TLC and close care. They have required small meals, regular and often, throughout the day and we have been weaning them using kitten milk and a specialised kitten diet to try and get them used to feeding for themselves, instead of suckling from mum. We have also had to use damp cotton wool after each feed to simulate mum grooming the kittens and encourage them to toilet. So far, everything is going well, however, there's no ideal substitute for mum and we will continue to monitor and care for Sloan, Mimi and Fawn very closely and take it a day at a time.
Why Your Support Matters
Sloan, Mimi and Fawn are gentle tiny kittens who have endured a lot, being away from their mum during the first few fragile weeks of their lives and they deserve to continue to thrive and grow in a safe and secure environment. Unfortunately, specialist food and extra care costs extra money, and that is why we are reaching out to our compassionate community to help us raise £1000 to cover their care. We receive no government funding and rely entirely on the generosity of kind-hearted people like you.
How Your Donations Will Be Used
• £1000 covers the full cost of Sloan, Mini and Fawns extra care, specialist foods and kitten milk, alongside vaccinations, neutering, microchipping and flea and worm treatments.
• Any donations received above and beyond this amount will be used to care for other cats at the Northern Ireland Cat Centre who have ended up at our centre through no fault of their own.
Every Little Bit Helps
We are immensely grateful for any help you can provide. No donation is too small. Every pound brings us one step closer to our goal and ensures that Sloan, Mimi and Fawn get the care and treatment they need. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing their story with your friends, family, and on social media. Together, we can make a big difference to their lives.
