Story
On 25th April 2022, I lost my dad Geoff to oesophageal cancer. In October that year I took part in the Great South Run to raise money for the Rowans Hospice in Waterlooville where my dad spent his last days.
After training for and completing that challenge, the running bug had bit for me. And next year I am attempting something truly mad - another 16.2 miles more than the 10 I did for my original challenge!
This time round I will be raising money for Big C, which helps those in Norfolk and Waveney who have received a cancer diagnosis. So if you can spare some money for this brilliant cause, then I and my poor tired legs will hugely appreciate it.
I’m also giving people that donate a chance to add to my race playlist for the big day. A £5 donation will get you 1 song for the playlist, or you can choose 3 for £10. The only rule is you can’t pick repeats of the same song, so I’m not subjected to a triple dose of Cheeky Girls at mile 21! Just add your song choices to your message when you donate, or drop me a message on Instagram @rustyrambles

About Big C
Every year more than 8000 people in Norfolk and Waveney are told the news that they have cancer, and many more are living with the effects every day.
By taking part in the Norfolk Marathon 2024 and raising money for Big C you will be helping us improve the lives of local people affected by cancer. Our work focuses on four key areas - supporting people affected by cancer, funding world-class local research, providing vital medical equipment and facilities in the county's main hospitals and educating local people about cancer for the future.
