Story
I am Nora Holford, a Head of Case Work at Inside Justice and I was a part of the team that helped release Patryk Pachecka 4 years into his life imprisonment sentence which had a minimum term of 18 years. Patryk was wrongly convicted of the murder of Grzegorz Pietrycki in Wood Green, North London along with Grzegorz Szal after a six-week trial at the Old Bailey in December 2017, The real killer escaped responsibility. Patryk’s legal team contacted Inside Justice
Advisory Panel and casework team to help appeal the case shortly after the initial trial. There were catastrophic failures by the investigating police and forensic scientists who did not analyse the crime scene accurately and misinterpreted evidence. Following is a quote from Siobhan Grey KC, Patryk’s Barrister “Inside Justice provides an amazing support network of experts who are on hand to deal with every issue which arises in a criminal case - scientific forensic experts as well as CCTV and telephone experts were immediately accessible to help us launch a complex criminal appeal.”
I’m passionate about the search for truth, just as I’m passionate about my running! When I first became aware of Inside Justice, what caught my attention was both the impact of miscarriages of justice on the wrongly convicted person (and their family) as well as that this means the real culprit is still out there, scot-free and a continued risk to the public. I joined as a volunteer caseworker and then became Head of Casework. And now I’m running for 5 days through Kenyan safari parks to raise funds to continue the good work. Most of the expert legal and forensic work carried out on Patryk’s behalf was provided on a pro-bono basis by our Advisory Panel. However, we still have costs that need funding and have to rely on donations we receive from people like you. If you would like to help please donate now. ANYONE CAN BE A VICTIM OF A MISCARRIAGE OF JUSTICE!
