Story

On Saturday 29th July 2023 Newry Olympic Hockey Club members Andrew, Gareth, Corey, Josh & Jeremy will be taking on the Mourne Seven Sevens challenge to raise money for Southern Area Hospice Services.

The Seven Sevens challenge involves climbing all seven peaks in the Mourne Mountains that are 700m or more above sea level. Covering a distance of 18 miles and 2500m of vertical ascent in the one day.

Southern Area Hospice Services provides invaluable support and care to people living within the Southern Health Board Area, who require specialist palliative and end of life care.

About the charity

Southern Area Hospice Services care for patients and their families living primarily in the Southern Trust area, offering specialist palliative and end of life care. The main aim of the hospice is to help patients who have received a palliative diagnosis live well with their condition.
