Support NLFT Perinatal Services in Raising Awareness for Postpartum Psychosis!
The North London Foundation Trust (NLFT) Perinatal Services, including the Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Service and the Maple Service, are coming together to raise awareness for postpartum psychosis, a serious mental health condition affecting new mothers and birthing people by taking the Miles for Mums and Babies Challenge.
To show their commitment to this vital cause, the staff of the service will collectively be running, walking, cycling or swimming 1,400 miles in the months of January and February. This symbolises the 1,400 mothers and birthing people who experience postpartum psychosis in the UK each year.
This challenge represents a powerful symbol of unity and support for mothers, birthing people and families affected by this condition, which is considered a medical emergency.
By donating, you’ll help fund crucial resources, research, and support for those impacted by postpartum psychosis offered by the charity Action for Postpartum Psychosis. Every contribution brings us closer to ensuring no mother feels alone in their journey.

“Action on Postpartum Psychosis (APP) is a UK charity. We’re here to make sure mums, parents and families are supported through postpartum psychosis – a severe, but treatable, form of mental illness that occurs after having a baby and affects 1400 new mums in the UK each year.
We offer information and peer support, facilitate ground breaking research, raise awareness and campaign for improved services.
Our life changing peer support network helps women and families affected by postpartum psychosis feel understood, supported and less isolated.”
