Help Nirmala Reach Everest - One Step At A Time

Nirmala Bhandari grew up at the Hope Centre in Nepal, overcoming life challenges growing up with a disability in this region thanks to the support of New Futures Nepal. Today, she’s a para-athlete, disability rights advocate, and founder of the Nirmala Foundation, working to ensure no one is left on the sidelines.
In 2025, Nirmala will take on her most ambitious challenge: trekking to Everest Base Camp — a gruelling 35-day expedition that will test her strength and resilience.
But she needs your help to make it happen.
Nirmala’s current prosthetic leg is no longer fit for purpose. Without a new, high-quality prosthetic - designed for challenging trekking conditions - her Everest dream cannot become reality.
Step Three Construction are raising £30,000 to fund:
• A new, custom-fitted prosthetic leg from leading specialists Ottobock
• Rehabilitation and fitting in the UK to ensure the prosthetic is tailored to her needs
• Essential mobility support for the Everest challenge
All funds will be managed by New Futures Nepal (UK Registered Charity 1142984), the UK NGO partner of the Nirmala Foundation, ensuring transparent and tax-efficient giving.
Any surplus funds will support the Nirmala Foundation’s work in Nepal, promoting mobility, health, and education for people with disabilities.
Your donation will help Nirmala take every step towards Everest, raising awareness for disability inclusion in Nepal and beyond.
