Story
A group of 30 colleagues are challenging themselves across varying levels of ability to complete 50/100 miles across the month of may either walking, running or cycling.
As a collective and in light of our companies charity of the year 'Shout' we want to help in anyway we can to support the charity that allows people to pick up the phone and choose to talk to someone 24 hours a day, when they are in a time of need.
I started the 'get moving' challenge at work two and half years ago because exercising, getting outdoors and taking time to step away from your work/children/partner/worries, whatever it maybe, for yourself can change your outlook in such a positive way. This challenge gave people the motivation to be brought together to allow that space for them to achieve a positive headspace. This challenge has had such a positive impact for many colleagues which is why it has continued to be a success and no better way than to support a charity this time.
Shout is the UK's only free, confidential and 24/7 text messaging service for anyone struggling to cope with their mental health. Every 60 seconds, someone reaches out for support and has a conversation that could save their life.
Please help no matter how big or small it doesn't matter because every little helps, this is what the money raised with hellp support:
£10 can pay for a conversation with someone in crisis
£25 can fund a clinician to provide expert supervision of conversations on Shout's digital mental health platform.
£250 can train a new Shout Volunteer to take life-saving conversations.
Thank you on behalf of everyone participating and everyone offering a donation. x
