I am joining a team of Mencap Marvels to swim the English Channel in summer 2024. The team, from the UK and across the world, are swimming to raise funds for Mencap. Mencap is a wonderful charity which is passionate about changing the world for individuals with a learning disability. They work hard to support individuals, families and campaign for change.

As a team we have lots of swimming training and prep to undertake for this event – it is no simple task – and I will be working hard in the pool and exposing myself to cold water and swimming in the dark to make myself ready for this amazing challenge.

The event will see us cover 22 miles between the UK and France. Completed in teams of six, each swimmer will take it in turn to swim for an hour in rotation, until the team reaches France.
