Story
I'll be running the Cambridge Half Marathon on 3 March 2024, a year and 2 days after I started my cancer treatment. I started running again after recovering from surgery in October following the couch to 10k programme. I'm not anywhere near the runner I was in 2022, missing my left kidney means I run to the left sometimes, but I am enjoying the challenge to raise funds for Maggie's, such a great team.
Maggie's gave my family and I support during my treatment last year. They helped my wife and two children, then 8 and 10 years old, to process and deal with the challenge that faced not just me but them.
Maggie's relies on the generosity of their supporters in the local community. They focus on the things that really make a difference, such as financial worries, help with managing stress and anxiety as well as side effects of treatment.
There are 24 centres in the UK, welcoming 100+ visitors into each centre every day.
