Story
Every time I do a running challenge I find myself saying “this will be the last one”, and having doubts about whether I can actually manage it. After doing a 10k last year with friends I was happy to have raised some money in a good cause, but didn’t think I’d be doing it again any time soon.
Well, I should have known better… one of my fellow runners, Jo, told me a few months ago she’d signed up to do the Royal Parks Half Marathon in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, and in a fit of enthusiasm I decided to join her, and signed up myself. Now the event is nearly upon us, and here I am again with the inevitable appeal to your generosity.
Like many people, I know many friends and relatives whose lives have been affected by cancer, and this is a charity I know means a lot to many people. So, while I won’t promise this will be my last big run, or that I won’t find myself shaking the fundraising tin again in future, I’d really appreciate it if you could spare a few quid to help me reach my target. Thank you.
