Story
Sherbourne Health’s Supporting Our Youth (SOY) program is dedicated to providing 2SLGBTQ youth with the support they need. Many of the young people we serve face challenges such as homelessness, being newcomers to Canada, or other barriers to their health and wellness. Traditional systems often fall short in meeting the needs of trans, non-binary, and queer youth, but SOY is here to bridge that gap.
SOY offers daily drop-ins, mentorship, goal planning, mental health support, primary health care, and case management. We also provide essentials like food and clothing, help youth build employment skills, find housing, and create connections through shared meals and community activities.
Our goal? To support the health and well-being of 2SLGBTQ youth.
"I'm looking for programs where I can go and have a meal to just survive the day." - Anu, SOY Participant
“I used to stay at the transitional housing... now I’m living in an apartment I got through SOY and it’s subsidized for me, and it’s all thanks to SOY.” - Chinenye, SOY Participant
