Story

I am really pleased to have this opportunity to be part of a fantastic event - all to raise much needed funds for Stick 'n' Step!

As most of you will be aware, my beautiful niece, Iris Ophelia, was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy aged 8 months old…so this year, I’m dusting off my dancing shoes, taking myself completely out of my comfort zone and taking part in a Strictly Come Dancing style event to raise much needed funds for an incredible charity!

Iris has been attending the Stick ‘n’ Step centre in Runcorn, taking part in conductive education sessions to help aid her development. Not only does the centre support the children, but they also massively support the families of those children living with Cerebral Palsy. The work the staff do at the centre is incredible and I truly believe Iris’ development has improved because of charities like Stick ‘n’ Step.

Iris is a ray of sunshine and fights daily, continuously pushing herself to do the things that the majority of us take for granted…simple things like sitting and eating independently…all with the BIGGEST most INFECTIOUS smile on her face.

Stick ‘n’ Step is a charity that enables, inspires, and supports children with cerebral palsy and their families. They support children and young people with cerebral palsy up to the age of 25 through the provision of free weekly conductive education (CE) sessions. Sessions are delivered by highly skilled professionals from specialist centres in Wallasey and Runcorn and are designed to help each child reach their personal potential in terms of mobility, confidence, and independence.

Stick ‘n’ Step receives no government funding, and relies greatly on supporters. The sponsorship money raised will help to fund and deliver services to over 100 families, like ours, across the North West each year.

Any donation to help this inspirational charity continue their work will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for any donation you are able to make - it will make a big difference to the many children and families that attend Stick 'n' Step.
