Story
You read that right!! Bet some of you had to re read it and said she is doing a Trek?! In the Himalayas! but yes I am! all to raise money for CoppaFeel!
For those who know me well I will be going massively out of my comfort zone to do this challenge, as I have never done anything like this before! but it’s all to raise funds for the wonderful charity CoppaFeel!
Applying to go the Trek comes with a very few very personal reasons…..firstly in 2021, my very lovely friend Donna was diagnosed with breast cancer and following treatment, took it upon herself to bang the drum to raise awareness and much needed funds for the amazing charity that is CoppaFeel! However, a single drum is pretty quiet and it wasn't long before she rallied the troops and a band was formed! The Knockers from Tockers! so Angie, Donna, Lyndsay, Nicola and Toria all applied to go on a Trek and we were accepted!!
So this November, we will be setting out on a challenging, extraordinary and life-changing trek, all in the name of checking chests! Along with Gi Fletcher and some other famous faces, I will embark on a 5 day trek in the Indian Himalayas, in a bid to raise funds towards CoppaFeel's life-saving mission.
They are on a mission to stamp out the late diagnosis of breast cancer by making sure that young people are regularly checking their boobs, pecs and chests and getting to know their bodies in order to have the confidence to see their GP if something just doesn't feel normal.
For myself personally last October I found a lump in my boob, it turned out to be cysts but because of being involved with Donna’s journey and understanding how important it was check myself regularly, when I found something that didn’t feel quite right I was then able to take quick action to get myself seen and checked over. So for me it’s so important that the message to educate young people to check themselves regularly gets to as many people as possible and why I got involved in this Trek with this amazing charity!
So if you can donate any amount it would be so very much appreciated by me, the Knockers from Tockers and the CoppaFeel! Charity. To find out more about CoppaFeel! head to www.coppafeel.org.
