Story

If you’re reading this you have at least clicked on a link to see what this is all about, well…

On 20th September 2025 I will be flying to China and spend five days trekking approximately 36km.

Day 1:

Distance trekked: 4-5km. Trekking time: 3 hours. Maximum altitude: 310m

Day 2:

Distance trekked: 13km. Trekking time: 8 hours. Maximum altitude: 430m

Day 3:

Distance trekked: 7.5km. Trekking time: 5-6 hours. Maximum altitude: 610m

Day 4:

Distance trekked: 7km. Trekking time: 6 hours. Maximum altitude: 780m

Day 5:

Distance trekked: 3km. Trekking time: 3 hours. Maximum altitude: 480m

Now those that know me will know this sounds insane, I don’t exercise and I’m not particularly adventurous, however that is the point. I’m going to push myself to my limits walking up and down thousands of steps at 45 degree angles in 26 degree heat (hoping I don’t frazzle) in the hope that some of you will sponsor me for an amazing cause… Alder Hey Charity.

Now if that wasn’t enough of a reason to dig deep then maybe this is…

Alder Hey is a place that a lot of us will remember as children, we’ve all been there for one reason or another and now a lot of us take our own children. It’s a place we are always very grateful to have, the support from staff and the amazing work they do with children is second to none.

Alder Hey isn’t just a hospital, it is an embedded part of the Liverpool community which we have all made use of and are proud of. Let’s raise some money for them!

As some of you will know, I work at Alder Hey in the Endocrine and Complications with Excess Weight Team. 50% of the funds raised will go to this team specifically so we can support the young people we work with daily, most who are facing social and financial difficulties and living in deprived areas in our communities facing huge health inequalities.

If you’ve managed to read this far then thank you. Please donate anything you can. It is for the young people in our community. ❤️💙

If you can’t donate financially but have some time to spare to help with fundraising, have a prize to donate for a raffle, can give us permission to put a collection box in your shop/business, can give us permission to shake a bucket to collect change at an event, pub or bar you run, or if you work for a company that will double charity funds you support with raising then please message me!! 🩷
