As a team, Blackpool and Fylde Police Cadets are determined to make a difference. That's why we're participating in the RNLI's 200th Anniversary celebrations by embarking on a 24 hour Swimathon. Our goal is to swim 1,350 lengths - the equivalent of swimming across the English Channel - and raise funds for this incredible charity. We're grateful for the opportunity to use Palatine Leisure Centre's facilities on February 10th-11th, 2024, and we're excited to be joined by Lifeboat crew; members of the Lancashire Police Swimming team; as well as other Police officers and staff. The cadets are aged 13-18 years old and while some of us are strong swimmers, others are not as confident and are having swimming lessons. However, together we will accomplish this challenge.
We live by the coast and have seen firsthand how busy the Lifeboats are, and how crucial the work that RNLI does is. They depend on our donations so they can continue saving lives and keeping us safe. The crew and staff all volunteer their time to save other people's lives and Blackpool is one of the busiest stations in the UK.
Thank you for reading our story and we hope you can join us in our challenge by donating to this worthy cause.
