Story
This year I am doing a 33 mile ultra challenge walk which I aim to try and complete in around 9 hours. starting in Cirencester where we lived for several years and where I was married. I am doing this in aid of MND, a horrible disease which my mother died from. She was an amazing lady, incredibly energetic and lively and loved to talk. She went cycling in France and trekking in Nepal in her 60,s and was always up for an adventure . The awful thing about MND, is that first you loose the ability to talk, then to swallow and then slowly all your motor skills ie using your fingers, arms, legs everything; but the worst of it is that your brain is fine you are just trapped in a non functioning body. Having to watch this slowly happen to my mum over several years was heartbreaking which is why funding research so this doesn’t happen to others is so important. Thank you.
