Story
I will be fundraising to donate an Abi cooling cot to a hospital provided by baby loss charity Abigail's Footsteps.
On April 6th 2023, when I was just under 6 months pregnant, our little boy River was born sleeping due to an extremely rare condition called Congenital High Airway Obstruction Syndrome. We were looked after in the Hope Butler Suite at Pembury Hospital in Tunbridge Wells, a special suite for families like us who experience stillbirth, TFMR or neonatal death. We were able to spend time as a family with River in the Hope Butler Suite thanks to the Abi Cooling Cot, produced by Abigail's Footsteps in partnership with the Bond Group and donated by another family in a similar position to us. We will forever be grateful for this vital piece of equipment and cherish those memories forever.
Not all families will have the same experience as us as not every hospital has a Cooling Cot which is why I want to raise the money to donate a Cooling Cot in honour of River and with the aim of helping more families who unfortunately will go through similar experiences in the future.
To raise the money, I will be challenging myself to run 100km over the course of July. Any donation big or small will be hugely appreciated and really will make such a huge difference to bereaved families in the UK.
