We have seen first hand how Alzheimer's destroys lives. It is heartbreaking watching those that you love who were once capable, intelligent, funny, caring, amazing people, become a shell of the person they once were. Seeing their frustration, anger, embarrassment, sadness and ultimate resignation of their fate breaks your heart, whilst at the same time actually feeling the frustration, anger, sadness and resignation of having to become their carer.

It's a truly wicked disease that takes the person away from you, even though they are still physically there.
