Story
In September I will be riding my bike 970 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats. I will be doing this event along with 800 other riders as part of an organised event riding over 100 miles over 9 days. My ride begins just after 7am on Saturday the 7th of September and will complete on the afternoon of Sunday the 15th of September.
I have chosen to supports Tay’s Tribe and Brain Tumour Research during this ride and would kindly ask for sponsorship for this challenge. I became aware of Tay’s story through a friend of my wife. Having heard Tay’s story I wanted to support the charity set up in his memory.
Tay’s Story
Tay was a beautiful, bright and sporty little boy who had so much love for his family and friends. He was always full of life, always so curious, and loved to make everyone laugh. Devastatingly that all changed on 30th May 2023. Taylan was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour called medulloblastoma. Taylan started with symptoms of headaches, blurred vision and unsteady walking only 9 days before he was diagnosed. He bravely underwent surgery, 5 weeks of radiotherapy followed by chemotherapy. Despite this gruelling treatment heartbreakingly Tay lost his life 8 months later aged 6 years old.
Sponsorship will help fund essential brain tumour research whilst helping me complete this mammoth challenge. Donations however small really motivate me to not give up through the tough parts and help me get to the finish line.
I will be posting updates on Facebook “Tay’s Tribe LEJOG” during my ride, by donating and following me on Facebook you will be joining me as part of Tay’s Tribe to journey from one end of Great Britain to another.
Thank you for reading this and your kind donations.
