Story
I am fundraising for Brain Tumour Research as they are the only national charity dedicated to funding long-term, sustainable research in the UK.
In April this year a dear friend of mine, Marc Wilding, was diagnosed with terminal Glioblastoma Multiform.
To say this was a devastating diagnosis for him, for his family and for his friends is an understatement.
He has had a craniotomy to get rid of one of the unwelcome bastards, which was successful, however Radiotherapy and chemotherapy start early June to fight off the other one!
I have seen first hand the affects of what this disease can do to a person and whilst Marc is absolutely fighting fit and taking it all in his stride (as those that know him would expect) anything I can do to help this community come up with a cure and further their research for what we know is an aggressive type of cancer, I will do!
Whilst I’ve added the London Marathon for next year as the final activity there will be multiple events between now and then, included but not limited to the following:
A sky dive
Multiple raffles at any events
A pub quiz
Running the Bath Half Marathon
I will continue to post on here all updates as and when I can!
Everything I will be doing takes me totally out of my comfort zone - the sky dive in particular - because I want to show those who support me I mean business when it comes to this fundraising campaign as I really really hope we can find a cure or at least something positive to prolong life in all those diagnosed.
