Headlight project hike into the light · 6 July 2024

Will you join us on a unique night-time hike (11pm-5am) which will be both physically and mentally challenging? It reinforces the mental health messages of hope and that nothing is permanent, as we move out of the darkness and into the light.

Story

I will be taking part in this years Headlight Hike into the Light. I'll be walking 12 miles from Cod Beck reservoir and onto part of the Cleveland Way route from 11pm-5:00am finishing as the sun comes up.

Any support would be greatly appreciated.

The Headlight Project aims to reduce the number of deaths by suicide in the Tees Valley, which has one of the highest regional rates in the country. We aim to achieve this by providing therapy to those bereaved by suicide, and delivering preventative education and training to schools, local businesses and the community.

I am doing this in memory of my daughter Bethany, forever age 21 who lost her life on the 15th of January 2024.

The headlight project offer counselling, both 1:1 and group for bereaved families lost to suicide, they also provide vital prevention training and education to reduce suicide in our region which is important as the North East has one of the highest suicide rates in the country.
