Story
Team “Majorly Traumatised” will be taking on The Dragon Boat Race 2023 for Nottingham Hospitals Charity!
We are taking part in a dragon boat race to raise funds for the major trauma unit. This money will go towards improving our patients hospital experience through equipment, research and staff development. It can also be used to enhance our staff wellbeing facilities.
The East Midlands Major Trauma Centre is a centre of excellence for Major Trauma. More than 17,600 patients have been admitted to the centre since it opened in 2012: thanks to the extraordinary skills and expertise of the team many patients are still alive today from near fatal injuries.
With a catchment area of 4.5m people, Nottingham is the busiest in the country and has some of the strongest clinical outcomes nationally. It is part of a national network of specialist centres which concentrate on expertise and resources to give the best possible care.
Our brave C30 consultants, doctors, nurses and therapy staff have rallied together to form a team for the boat race. We are kindly asking for support of friends, family, patients past and present and relatives to help us raise the money.
We thank you all for any support and donations given to our team to continue the outstanding care and treatment available in our services.
Nottingham Hospitals Charity enhances patient care at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts Queens Medical Centre & City Hospital.
