Story
On 6 November, I'll be taking part in the #TeamWinchesterHospice Sahara Trek 2024!
Together with a team of 30, I'll spend six days making my way across sand dunes, sun-baked plains and ancient dried up river beds to raise money for Winchester Hospice - the only adult hospice in Winchester.
Every donation helps the specialist team at Winchester Hospice to provide palliative and end of life care to those with life-limiting illness in and around Winchester. With your support, we can develop and grow these vital services to be there for even more families in our city both now and for years to come.
My son Will spent the last 12 days of his life in the care of Winchester Hospice before succumbing to the leukaemia he had been fighting for nearly 8 years. The staff were lovely and did everything they could to make Will as comfortable as possible. We couldn't have asked for better care at such a difficult time.
I hadn't realised that the NHS only funds a percentage of the cost to run the Hospice and the remaining £650k has to be funded through donations. I therefore wanted to help in some small way to show my gratitude. I am hoping to raise £4,000 and hope you will be able to help me with this.
Thank you for any donations you can give and for supporting this charity with me.
