Every year approximately 100,000 people will have a stroke in the UK and a quarter of these will happen to people of working age or younger and it is the single biggest cause of disability. Different Strokes is the only charity dedicated to younger stroke survivors to provide active peer support through information, advice and rehabilitation services.

For those that know me I suffered a stroke in my sleep on the 17th of June 2024...I consider myself very lucky as mainly my speech and a droppy mouth were the result plus I have had to learn to deal with stroke fatigue a condition that leaves me with no energy, different strokes have been a great help when I was at my lowest point, the support from other survivors has been my life saver.
