As an Armed Forced veteran, this is a charity close to my heart ! Having served 22 years in the RAF Police, I have served both in the UK and overseas including a 6 month tour in Iraq in 2004-2005. During that time we witnessed and dealt with 24 deaths including one of our own who sadly took her own life.

Being in the Port industry I wanted to do something aptly named and have decided to do a 'Dry Dock'....

So on 11th November 2023 I shall raise a glass to colleagues, veterans and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. I then intend to go into 'Dry Dock' and not raise another glass until the following Remembrance Day in 2024......That's right.....Alcohol free, bleifrei, tee total.... you name it, I'm all over it !!

Since 1885, thanks to the public's support, SSAFA continues to provide welfare and wellbeing assistance tailored to our Armed Forces community. They know and understand the unique demands of service life, whether in the UK or overseas, and in times of need, they help to enable the Forces family to thrive.
