Story
Some time back a friend asked me to sponsor him for a bike ride he was doing around Ibiza. (He had previously suffered a brain haemorrhage and was riding for a brain injury charity). Before I had the chance to say ‘yes’ he offered me an alternative which was to join him; and rather late in the evening, I agreed to do it. That seems like a rash decision now, having discovered that Ibiza is not flat, (except for the dance floors and beaches) and I have been regretting it ever since! I was going to do it quietly until last week when someone asked if they could speak at my funeral!
So, here is a note asking a few of you to send me a couple of quid in aid of this amazing charity which you will only heard of, if you have know of someone who has suffered a brain injury.
I will not take it personally if you do not contribute as we all get many of these requests but if it chimes with you do support me.
Thanks in advance and I have already done over 1,200 kilometres of training so hopefully will not be walking!
Please see below a little information on the charity.
