I am trying to cycle further in one day then I have ever achieved before - 140 miles and 5km of vertical height. I will be taking part in the Mallorca 312 (over 5000 participants) on April 27th. I will cycle over the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range which runs along the North of the island.

I am raising money for Mesothelioma UK which is a national charity which supports patients and carers with mesothelioma (a rare cancer of the lining of the lung, associated with previous asbestos exposure). The charity funds over 30 nurses across the UK, who I know at first hand, do a fantastic job. It also funds research, national audits and tries to influence government policy. As Chair of the Board of Trustees of Mesothelioma UK and the Co-Lead of the North Bristol NHS Trust pleural service, I see the important work they are doing on a daily basis. I also realise the importance of fund raising to support charities at this difficult time.
