Story
Our dear friend, Tim, was taken from us way too early this year. He is sorely missed. Have pinched Becky's wording, as I couldn't do it any better!....
Our much loved Tim Coffin passed away on 28th April 2024, just over two years after he was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Tim was the light of all our lives, a loving father to his two boys, as well as an incredible husband, brother, son, friend and colleague - and is deeply missed by all of us.
In December 2023, shortly after he had spent 2 weeks in respite care at Princess Alice, Tim came to support the Princess Alice Santa Run in Bushy Park. He wanted to thank the amazing team at the hospice for the care they gave him at a difficult time - and he was so touched to see so many family and friends, of all ages, completing the 5k run to fundraise for the hospice. He cheered and took photos of every one of us as we went over the line - he was so proud of us all. Having completed two London marathons himself, he knew that running takes effort!
This year, sadly Tim won't be there at the line, but he will be looking down at us all from above, and he will be so happy to see us going out to support Princess Alice again. In the last six weeks of his life, the care they gave him is beyond description. He was surrounded by love, care, warmth, peace, understanding and comfort. Princess Alice helped all of us and we can never thank them enough.
Over 40 of Tim's family and friends, aged from 10 up to 70+ (!) will be completing 5k in our santa suits on Sunday 15th December at Sandown Park. Please help us fundraise for the hospice so that they can continue to provide such important support to other families when they need it.
Thank you.
This is how they describe what they do...
Princess Alice Hospice provided a comprehensive range of services that respond to the individual needs of patients and their families, so that they can live life to the full, create memories, share special moments when the time comes, support them through, before and after the death of a loved one.
It costs us £10 million each year to provide free, high quality specialist end of life care to tens of thousands of people with life threatening illnesses. We rely on wonderful supporters like you to help us generate thousands of pounds through participating in events like the Santa Fun Run.
