Nick & Bella’s London Landmarks Half Marathon 2025

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2025 · 6 April 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
On 5th October 2014, Nick lost his cousin Matt to a sudden and unexplained heart attack. On the 10 year anniversary of Matt’s passing, we decided that we would like to mark this anniversary by continuing to raise money for CRY in Matt’s name by participating in the 2025 London Landmarks Half Marathon.
The day before Matt left us he was doing what he loved, which was playing rugby at Cobham Rugby Club. Matt was a fit, healthy young man who was full of life, but just like him, 12 apparently fit and healthy young adults die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions every week in the UK alone.
After Matt passed away, Nick’s family were put in touch with CRY. Ever since then CRY have been a fantastic charity who not only fund multiple diagnostic tests to highlight abnormalities but also provide grief counselling and support for families and individuals.
As well as supporting families, CRY's aim is to prevent sudden cardiac deaths in young adults through awareness, targeted screening and funding research at St George's Hospital Tooting.
Unfortunately, we are still unable to diagnose what caused Matt's heart attack, but with your donations we can certainly help CRY reduce the frequency of sudden young cardiac deaths, by connecting with both cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and by providing screening facilities to help promote and protect the cardiac health of young people.
Thanks for taking the time to read this page and we appreciate any donations you may be able to give.
