Nick's fundraiser for Saint Michael's Hospice in memory of Stuart Gray

25 Events in 2025 for Saint Michael's Hospice
Throughout 2025 I will be taking part in and organising 25 different events/activities in memory of my brother Stuart, with the goal of raising as much money as possible for Saint Michael's Hospice, who cared for him so well and with such compassion during his final weeks.
Stuart sadly died from Cholangiocarcinoma, a rare form of liver cancer, on January 27th 2024, at the age of just 50. He left behind 5 children, his partner Rachel, and a family who love and miss him dearly.
I will post regular updates on this page and on social media about the events that I will be taking part in, and hopefully some of you can get involved with me along the way!
I will be easing myself in with a 5k event in Orlando, Florida next week, and gradually building from there, with various running, walking, sporting and non-sporting events planned. Watch this space!
Events/activities currently booked in or in the works include:
VMX 5km Color Run in Orlando, FL (with my brother-in-law, John)
Great Manchester Run (1/2 Marathon)
Harrogate 10km
Tough Mudder 15km obstacle course
72 hole golf challenge with Stuart's son Jacob
Great North Run (1/2 Marathon)
Great Glasgow Run (1/2 Marathon) with Stuart's son Adam
All-day padel tennis 'marathon'
Golf day and dinner
24 peaks Lake District walk
Bungee jump over Larpool Viaduct, Whitby
With Saint Michael's being a charity that is so close to mine and my family's heart, and with them being in such desperate and constant need of support, I will be aiming to raise as close to £25,000 as possible over the course of the year. Perhaps an optimistic goal, but one I would love to achieve, with the help of your donations and sharing of this page as far and wide as possible.
Saint Michael’s is the local hospice care charity ensuring people affected by terminal illness across the Harrogate district can access high quality, personalised care. They do this by offering a range of services from their Hornbeam Park-based hospice, and out in the community in people’s own homes, as well as reaching out regionally and nationally. They are also passionate about working in partnership to enable others to offer hospice-standard care. They believe everyone should get care that is personalised and responsive to their individual needs.
