We brighten the lives of children who are living with serious or life-limiting illnesses, between the ages of 3-18, across the United Kingdom by granting their wish and supporting them in hospitals and hospices.

Story

We are Nick and Jordan and together, we are pumped to be running the London Marathon to support Rays of Sunshine, a charity that brings joy and hope to seriously ill children and their families. We will be working hard pounding pavement in the hope of reaching our £5000 target to make an impactful difference to support sick children while they bravely face their own health challenges.

Your donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference. We really appreciate any generous donations towards making a positive impact on these children's lives!

Rays of Sunshine Children's Charity exists to fulfil the wishes of children, between the ages of 3-18 in the UK, of any race or gender who are terminally or seriously ill. It also buys equipment for these children and supports the hospices, hospitals and specialist schools that care for them. The charity brightens the lives of these children and their families by granting wishes and providing ongoing support. Rays of Sunshine believes that every child deserves to experience happiness and put their illness on hold, even if it is just for one day. Their work provides a positive distraction, reduces isolation, improves self-esteem and creates precious memories and smiles.

A bit about us...

Two lads from down under wanting to make a change and impact the lives of many. Both in education, we see the importance of building confidence in young people. The importance of understanding that each child deserves happiness and their own moments in life that they and their families can reflect upon proudly. Fore these reasons, we have decided to run with #TeamSunshine to conquer the London Marathon and raise funds to grant the wishes of seriously ill children. The thought of putting smiles on young children's faces at a time when they and their families are going through an incredibly testing time, motivates us to make a small difference to their lives, all while doing something we love sounds like a fantastic journey and more than worthwhile cause!

A bit about team FRC...

Nick (a.k.a FOZ), the cockatoo-looking character, was overlooked from making AFL. From that day forward, he made running his personality. He has 6 marathons under his belt, with his best time in Paris breaking the sub-3-hour mark, putting him in the elite category of runners worldwide. His unyielding resilience and never-conceding attitude make him a different beast. Don’t be fooled by the grey hairs sprouting from his head; he’s ready to claim the London Marathon. #CockatooRunner #GreyHairDontCare #EliteBeast

Jordan (a.k.a STANTS), the one with the oversized cranium who can be mistaken for looking like Shrek, is the opposite of Nick. Not built for running but built for power. Jordan has completed one marathon with an amazing time of 3:30, which is fantastic for someone who claims he was the heaviest person in the race. You’ll see Jordan at the start line huffing, puffing, and shuffling with his zombie-like run style. #ShrekStrength #ZombieShuffle #HeavyweightHero

Together, they’re determined to inspire young people to chase their dreams and find their own moments of glory.

We brighten the lives of seriously ill young people by granting wishes and providing ongoing support. Our wishes are as unique as the children themselves and whether a child wants to be a fireman, meet a real-life mermaid or even the Loch Ness Monster, we work hard to make that wish come true.
