Fundraising for Gold Standard Charitable Trust
I am delighted to be participating in this collective effort to provide bursary support for our fantastic UK Inspired schools. I am proud to be UK CEO for Inspired Education Group and to run alongside colleagues from across our UK schools. I will very much be following in their wake on the day itself!
The Gold Standard Charitable Trust does an excellent job of making bursaries possible and bringing in fantastic, talented pupils whose family economic circumstances would otherwise prevent them from attending schools such as ours in the UK. They are currently supporting 38 pupils with full and large bursaries that benefit from Inspired's 3 pillars approach to education - top academic rigour, excellent sport and outstanding creative and performing arts..
The Trust does not have an endowment, so they rely on fundraising events and appeals - such as this Half Marathon campaign - to raise the necessary funds each year. Every penny raised will go directly to support a child receiving a bursary.
My last long distance foray was the London Marathon in 1991! I suspect my time for this half marathon will be somewhat similar for half the distance - but I have started training and am adding 2 km to my distance each week - and am determined to do the team proud on the day.
Thank you for any support you might be able to give,
Nick Wergan
