Story

Hi All,

It would be great if you will help motivate me to complete a challenge I am woefully under-prepared for on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th of May.

On Saturday myself and some far more accomplished friends, will be attempting to run a Backyard Challenge.... What this will consist of is a 6km loop run every hour for 20 to 24 hours. There will be roughly 100m of elevation each loop. The main rule is a participant has to start the next loop on the hour every hour. If I can reach my goal of 20 laps I would have run 120kms in 20hrs and done +-2000m vertical climbing.

I am worried how I am going to fair from lap 10 - 20 and what would help me is if I have others giving me a reason to get up and go complete the next lap. If you choose to sponsor me, I believe that will help me make that decision when I am struggling... I would also like to support the school my son (Ben) has been so fortunate to attend over the last 2.5 years. They have been wonderful to him and as a parting gift (he will move on in September) I would like to help them in the below initiative:

Support me and join us in making a difference for the children of All Saints Infant School by raising money for the construction of an All Weather Athletics Track!

At All Saints, the importance of outdoor learning, nurturing active lifestyles, and promoting inclusivity and children's mental health is paramount. By building this track, the aim is to create a space where children can thrive physically and mentally.

The track will support their learning by providing a daily outlet for energy, improving fitness to combat childhood obesity, and enhancing mental well-being through outdoor activity.

Additionally, it will foster healthy competition, host interschool events, and provide a valuable community resource.

Your support in this endeavour will have a lasting impact on the health and happiness of children in my community. Hopefully it will also help get me over the starting line when the clock strikes. I appreciate whatever you can give.
