Event: London Marathon 2024, on 21 April 2024
The most famous marathon in the world, the TCS London Marathon has over 40,000 runners taking part and draws crowds of an estimated 750,000 to the streets of the capital.

Story

I’m really excited to be running the London Marathon for the 1st time, but especially raising money for Bowel Research UK (BRUK). I’ve never tried to raise this level of money before, so it is both exciting and daunting!

I used to think of the charity entry as just something you had to do if you couldn’t get a ballot place for the marathon. How wrong I was. Having now connected with the 20 or so other runners for BRUK and heard their direct stories of losing relatives to Bowel Cancer and other diseases, or personal battles with bowel diseases, I now realise that this is actually the most important aspect of why I’m participating next year.

I’ll be far more proud if I reach my fundraising goal than if I finish the marathon or beat any goal time.

Your support is so greatly appreciated by me and I know that thanks to JustGiving and the amazing people at BRUK, all of your money will go directly where it should and be used well.

Thank you!!
