Story

This year am taking on the challenge to do the RNLI Boxing Day Swim in memory of my late husband Martin Bruce.

Martin was a local well respected Fisherman & Skipper of the Day Dawn & Challenger FR90 in our home town of the Broch.

He was sadly suddenly taken from us in May this year. Martin had been to sea & fishing since he was 15 years old & fishing ran in his blood and knew just how important the Life Boat is to our community.

I am raising much needed funds to support our local Life Boat which was close to both our hearts.

In his memory I’d like to raise as much as I can to support our local Life Boat which is a massive part of our local fishing community. They do such an amazing selfless dangerous job and our fishing community need their dedicated hard work to keep our fisherman safe! As a charity, the RNLI depends on our donations so it can go on saving lives and keeping us and our loved ones safe.

All donations will go to the running of our local Life Boat in Fraserburgh. Thank you!

RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.
