Story
On Sunday 13th April 2025, I’ll be lacing up my trainers to take part in the Paris Marathon!
I’ve only visited Paris once before and loved it, but I never thought my next visit would be to run 26.2 miles! That said, I’m not just running for myself, I’m running for Dementia UK and for the many families, like mine, who have been affected by Dementia.
Training for a marathon is something I never imagined I’d take on, and is going to be a huge personal challenge for me! Training is tough, especially in the cold, wind and rain, but every time I think about giving up, I remember why I’m doing it.
Dementia is a cruel disease, not only for those diagnosed, but for friends, family and carers. It steals memories and changes the way families can interact with their loved ones. Dementia UK provides life-changing support to all those affected, especially through their specialist Admiral Nurses.
I can’t emphasise enough just how tough the Paris Marathon will be for me, but with your support, I can get through and we can all do our bit to raise funds for this amazing charity!
Any support you can give, whether it’s a donation, sharing my page, or just words of encouragement are so welcome and are very much appreciated.
Thank you for helping me cross the finish line (even if I crawl over it!), lol!
